A delegation from the Technical Committee for the Preservation of the Old City of Aleppo, Syria, visited the Conservation and Restoration Research Group at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Yıldız Technical University. During the meeting, discussions focused on the technical and academic contributions Yıldız Technical University could provide toward the preservation and rehabilitation of Aleppo’s Old City and the sustainable safeguarding of its World Heritage status.

The Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Yıldız Technical University was established by a Presidential Decree published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette. With this new faculty, YTÜ will bring together its educational and research capabilities in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, data engineering, and cybersecurity under one roof.

University climate ambassadors gathered at the COP31 workshop

Ahead of COP31, which will be hosted by Turkey in November, student climate ambassadors from universities gathered in Ankara. The two-day workshop, which was also attended by Merve Nur Elmas, a YTÜ Environmental Engineering student and Climate Ambassador, addressed international climate negotiations, preparations for COP31, climate literacy, and youth participation in decision-making processes.

The procedures and guidelines for YÖK’s “Turkey Strategic Technology Human Resources Program” have been announced

Under the Turkey Strategic Technology Human Resources Program launched by YÖK, 3,000 researchers will be trained over five years, starting with 550 in the first year. Applications for the program will be accepted online from September 8 to 22, 2026. Young researchers will be employed as research assistants while continuing their education in the doctoral programs to which they are admitted.
