L'ORÉAL UNESCO Fellowships for Women in Science are awards offered by a partnership between L'Oréal Turkey and the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO to promote, enhance and encourage the contribution of women pursuing their research careers in Turkey in the fields of the life and material sciences. The National Fellowships Programme initiated in 2003 is continuing to promote women in scientific research on a global scale. Six Fellowships will be awarded in 2019.
L`ORÉAL – UNESCO National Fellowship For Women in Science programme honors six young scientist each year. Three awards are given in Life Sciences and three awards are given in Material Sciences Category. Proposed research projects should focus on the specific listed below under Life and Material sciences heading: Life Sciences: Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics and Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Bioinformatics including Health Informatics, Neurobiology, Biomedical and Artificial intelligence research in Biology. Materials Sciences: Particulate Materials, Polymers, Glasses and Ceramics, Composites, Biomaterials, Nanomaterials, Specially Designed Surfaces, Photonic Crystals; Condensed Matter Physics and Statistical Physics. Each candidate should hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) to apply to the fellowship program. Each Fellow is granted 75.000 TL. The fellowship program is open to scientists with a doctoral or a post-doctoral degree under 40 years of age at the date of 31s t December 2018 (last day of the announcement year).
