Workshop | Cultural Heritage Analysis Using Portable Raman Spectroscopy

Dear YTÜ Family,

Hosted by the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at the Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy, Yıldız Technical University, a workshop titled “Cultural Heritage Analyses Using Portable Raman Spectroscopy” will be held to explore the scientific examination of cultural heritage artifacts.

During the workshop, hands-on demonstrations of non-destructive analysis of cultural heritage artifacts will be presented using the portable alphaCART Raman Spectrometer developed by Oxford Instruments. Participants will have the opportunity to perform analyses on samples they bring with them and evaluate the applications of portable Raman spectroscopy on various cultural heritage materials.

We invite everyone interested in the fields of materials science, metallurgy, chemistry, archaeometry, art history, conservation-restoration, museology, and cultural heritage research to attend the workshop.
