An international conference titled “Translation Beyond Human Languages and Cultures in the Age of Ecological Crises” will be held on November 12–13, 2026, hosted by Yıldız Technical University.

Yıldız Technical University will host an international conference that examines the concept of translation beyond human languages and cultures in the context of ecological crises. Organized in collaboration with the Biodemocracy and Inclusive Linguistic Practices Research Group, the conference will bring together researchers from various disciplines to discuss the role and scope of translation in the face of ecological crises.

“Translation Beyond Human Languages and Cultures in the Age of Ecological Crises” (La Traduction au-delà des Langues et des Cultures Humaines à l’Époque des Crises Écologiques / Translation Beyond Human Languages and Cultures in Times of Ecological Crises) will open on November 12 at the YTÜ Historic Hamam. Conference sessions will be held at the Davutpaşa Campus Congress and Culture Center.

Members of the Biodemocracy and Inclusive Linguistic Practices Research Group, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Süter Görgüler and Research Assistant Dr. Fulya Marmara, are also on the conference organizing committee. The two-day international conference will provide an academic forum for evaluating translation studies through perspectives that extend beyond ecological crises, non-human life, and cultural boundaries.
