The 2026 Evaluator Advanced Training Program, organized by the Higher Education Quality Council to strengthen the quality assurance system in higher education and enhance the competencies of evaluators involved in evaluation processes, will be held at Yıldız Technical University. The training will be attended by 150 participants from 83 different universities and institutions.

Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) will host an important program aimed at advancing quality assurance and evaluation processes in higher education. Organized by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK), the 2026 Evaluator Advanced Training Program will take place on October 8, 2026, at the Historic Hamam on YTÜ’s Davutpaşa Campus.

The training program, which will bring together academic, administrative, and industry representatives from various universities and institutions, is expected to attract 150 participants from 83 different universities and institutions. The program aims to enhance evaluators’ knowledge and competencies regarding evaluation processes, increase the sharing of experiences, and strengthen a common understanding of quality.

YTÜ and YÖKAK leadership will come together at the opening ceremony

The opening remarks will be delivered by YTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik and YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak. YÖKAK Vice President Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır will provide information on “Introduction to YÖKAK and Evaluation Terminology,” while Prof. Dr. Yunus Nadi Yüksek will share details about the training program with the participants.

Assessment processes will be addressed through hands-on activities

During the morning session of the program, participants will come together for hands-on exercises focused on evaluation processes. The training program aims to strengthen evaluators’ skills in correctly interpreting quality criteria, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and developing evidence-based recommendations. The “Let’s Identify Strengths and Areas for Improvement” session will provide evaluators with insights into evaluation processes.

In the program, the second session, titled “Who Should We Ask and What Should We Ask?”, will focus on formulating the right questions during the evaluation process and methods for obtaining information. This will be followed by the “What Evidence Is Needed?” session, which will feature practical exercises on determining the evidence to be used in evaluations.

The PDCA cycle and evaluation outputs will be addressed

Later in the program, a “PDCA Tagging Exercise” will be conducted. Following the exercise, under the heading “What Should the Final Report Look Like?”, the program will address how the outputs of the evaluation process should be structured. In the final segment of the day, participants will take an exam. The program will conclude after the completion of the satisfaction survey.

The goal is to strengthen a shared understanding of quality assurance

Through presentations and hands-on activities held throughout the day, the program aims to create a shared learning environment where participants involved in evaluation processes can share their experiences and learn about quality assurance practices at different institutions.

Hosted by Yıldız Technical University, the program will also provide a platform for sharing academic and institutional experiences aimed at advancing quality assurance in higher education.
