As part of the TECHSIGHT Project, in which Yıldız Technical University is a partner, an online training series titled “Strategic Foresight and Horizon Scanning” will be held. The training sessions will take place from October 12–14, 2026.
As part of the TECHSIGHT Project, which aims to help higher education institutions prepare for future technological transformations, strategic foresight and horizon scanning training sessions will be held for the academic and administrative staff of Yıldız Technical University.
The TECHSIGHT Project aims to strengthen higher education institutions’ capacity to adapt to the rapidly changing technology and innovation landscape. The online training series organized within this framework invites academic and administrative staff to evaluate the future of higher education and developments in deep technology from a strategic foresight perspective.
The training program will feature hands-on exercises designed to help participants identify early warning signs of change, evaluate potential developments through different scenarios, and translate the insights gained into institutional strategies and actions.
Deep Technology and Future Trends to Be Addressed
Comprising three sessions, the program will address megatrends and emerging developments in the field of deep technology, while also evaluating how strategic foresight and horizon scanning approaches can be applied in higher education institutions.
On the first day of the program, under the title “Introduction to Strategic Foresight, Horizon Scanning, and Deep Technology Megatrends,” the fundamental approach to strategic foresight and transformation trends in the field of deep technology will be discussed.
On the second day, under the title “Foresight, Identifying Weak Signals, and the TECHSIGHT Methodological Framework,” the session will focus on identifying weak signals that may indicate significant future transformations and the application of the TECHSIGHT methodology.
On the third day of the program, a “From Forecasting Insights to Organizational Action – Strategic Foresight Workshop” will be held. During the workshop, practical exercises will be conducted to translate the insights gained into strategies, roadmaps, and concrete organizational actions.
The Training Sessions Will Take Place October 12–14
The TECHSIGHT online training series will take place on October 12, 13, and 14, 2026. Each two-hour session will be held online from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CET.
The program—which includes expert presentations, facilitated discussions, hands-on exercises, peer sharing, and evaluation activities—is open to academic and administrative staff, as well as higher education professionals working in the fields of research support, innovation, entrepreneurship, European Union projects, and regional ecosystems.

The First Episode of the TECHSIGHT HEI Leadership Series Is Now Available
The first episode of the HEI Leadership Series, developed as part of the TECHSIGHT Project for administrators involved in decision-making processes at higher education institutions, has also been released.
The first episode, titled “An Introduction to Deep Tech and Strategic Foresight,” was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Üvet from Yıldız Technical University. The session addressed the role higher education institutions can play in the rapidly evolving deep tech ecosystem and the importance of strategic foresight from the perspective of university administration.
Designed for rectors, vice rectors, deans, academic administrators, and other stakeholders involved in decision-making processes at universities, the series evaluates how higher education institutions can prepare their research, innovation, and institutional strategies for future technological transformations.
The first episode of the series focuses on what it means for a university to take on a pioneering role in the era of deep tech transformation and the importance of strategic foresight for institutional leadership.
