Short Brief:
There is an international design group that has been established by 2 Swedesih, 1 Japanese, 1 Portugese and 2 Turkish freelance designers. There are also several software developers they work with. What they want to design is a content management system to
- publish
- discuss
- archieve
their design process and projects.
At the end of the course: you will be developing the architecture of the system together. But then each of you will design different interface alternatives.
Task 1. Each of you will be one of these designers. You should now choose you charater, find a name for the character.
Task 2. Image the project by yourself with this short brief till our first brainstorming session on the 14th of Octobre at 10:30.
Task 3. Post your characters info and your first ideas as a comment to this post before 14.10.

Evelina Swedholm (27) // Photographer & Corporate ID designer (from Sweden)
hej, there is some questions from me about this content management
system . i am planning something but it must be different from deviant
art, behance or facebook for sure. i use behance.net but is it really
useful? i do not think so. but however, it is better than deviantart.
looks like so “professional” and useful. it has some problems but
still better than others. In my opinion, it should seems like friendly
but ew can use it as professicnal portfolio network. and i want to
personalize our pages but without “killing” the original ID of this
system. i have some ideas about it, but first, i need answers.
1. What kind of works can we share in this system? Only static ones?
or with video or sound? will we post them? or upload with a tool?
2. Will designers have their own pages? with their works? or just pages?
3. Is there any gallery structure? what about titles or genres?
4. Can designers contact each other from this system? or only write
their contact adresses?
5. Can the others contact the designers? how?
6. Can we manage our works how we want in archieve? or is there any solution?
7. Can we comment to works and designs? or can we only send mail to
designers about them?
8. Will we solve these problems together? or work on same structure
with different interfaces that we will design?
These are some questions about system before i try to find solutions
and work on it. i am sure that i will have more questions until
thursday. I hope we will answer them together.
Hälsningar/Best regards
Evelina.

Project 3
Task 1.
I wouldn’t like to chose the Portuguese designer, obviously, because it wouldn’t be as
interesting for me as to chose, for example, a Turkish one. So, I think I’m going to chose
the Turkish to get even more in touch with this culture. My name could be Ece, because
it reflects a little bit of my personality and it resembles in sound “Edge” which I quite
appreciate and search for.
Task 2.
About the actual ideas, as I said, my background doesn’t allow me to actually think about
this except for visual looks. I think with the brainstorming I will be able to understand a lot
better what ideas are possible and which are not. Also, if this is a kind of roleplaying, than
defining what the “company” is all about is also quite important. If it is dedicated mainly
to more professional works than a more practical and professional look is required. If on
the other hand there’s a lot of creative freedom and experimentation, than something a lot
more dynamic could be ideal.
I think that one thing I would love to explore is the immensity of the web world. Something
I’m quite interested in is the fluidity of a web site. And how user friendly it is. For that, I
know that some of my notions in editorial might help, making it possible for us to chose
what the public reads first, and how his eyes move along the page.
http://www.dontclick.it/ this kind of method, dynamic and fluid is something I think a good
design company should look for.

Im gonna start by giving my feedback to you, maybe i ll get somewhere myself
1. What kind of works can we share in this system? Only static ones?
no, all kind of works.. we will post them (dont understand the last question XD)
2. Will designers have their own pages? with their works? or just pages?
in my opinion, if this is a tool that is something that has to be functional and not merely representative of our work, yes, i think they should be able to post their works on the tool. and also use it to discuss it.
3. Is there any gallery structure? what about titles or genres?
hmm… this is a very good question.. what i was thinking was something like … “blank” pages. as in the real page object. you could post as many things as you would like, and probablly give the page a cathegory, to keep it organized. you could make it public or private, u could make it something static or to be edited.. as in: comented
4. Can designers contact each other from this system? or only write
their contact adresses?
think that fast and effective contact would be a must for a tool like this to work..
5. Can the others contact the designers? how?
maybe you can just be a pen and not have blank pages of your own
6. Can we manage our works how we want in archieve? or is there any solution?
I am thinking if this is possible, to transform the tool into something dynamic that would work almost as a blank page, will develop this idea on thursday
7. Can we comment to works and designs? or can we only send mail to
designers about them?
yes
8. Will we solve these problems together? or work on same structure
with different interfaces that we will design?
veeeeryyy good question XD
