Yıldız Technical University has been promoted to the A1 category in the YÖK Research Universities ranking for the first time. YTÜ ranked 5th overall and 3rd among state universities.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Higher Education Council (YÖK) President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar announced the 2026 performance evaluation results for 23 research universities and 10 candidate research universities at the Research Universities Support Program (ADEP) hosted by the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ). 

In the ranking, which evaluates research universities based on capacity, quality, and collaboration indicators, Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) placed 5th in the general category. YTÜ, which was classified in the A1 category, ranked 3rd among state universities.
